Colm Larkin is a writer of creative scripts and marketing copy for moving image, print and digital media.
My writing career began after I graduated from Dublin City University with a BA in Communication Studies.I set up an online music magazine, eyeballkid, writing, editing and managing the site for seven years. At the peak of its success, eyeballkid attracted over 18,000 unique visitors a month.
I also spent two years writing a weekly singles review column for music magazine Clash, and have also contributed reviews, features, interviews and opinion pieces for Clash, Dazed and Confused, Grafik and Blues & Soul.
During this time, I held a full-time job at London-based creative agency Airside. I managed the company’s finances and ran their online shop, but also got involved in writing scripts for animations and copy for websites.Soon, my writing became a new service the company was able to offer its clients.
In late 2009 I moved to San Francisco where I am now a freelance writer.I continue to work with Airside maintaining their online content, as well as on client projects – most recently for Intel and Virgin Atlantic.
In January 2010, I received my US working visa and recently completed work on projects for Sony and Nike. I also write event previews for the San Francisco edition of online culture guide, www.flavorpill.com.
